Job Description Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Technician to join Service Stream in our Berrinba location.
About The Role
Service Stream’s Telecommunications division are currently seeking a Communications Technician to join our growing company. You will be responsible for installation and operation of telecommunications network plant and equipment including but not limited to routine installation, operation and diagnostic activities.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Berrinba, QLD
Reporting Line: Field Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
This role is responsible for telecommunications field work including fibre hauling and aerial work. Tasks involved in the role include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake cable rearrangement activities
- Perform functions in electrical connections and disconnections to live power networks in line with qualifications and WH&S requirements
- Maintain telecommunications network integrity at all times
- Fault localisation, analyse system faults and repair of all fault types.
- Where required undertake the repair of damaged cable with regard to all working services.
- Pole change, underground and overhead installation activities to be completed in accordance with power authorities’ specifications
- Perform work anywhere in the client networks throughout the state

About You
To be successful in this role, you are an experienced Telecommunications field worker. We are seeking an individual with demonstrated knowledge and experience with ideally an understanding of aerial networks. You will also demonstrate and possess the following:
- Experience in Telecommunications maintenance or construction
- Willingness to work both day and night rotating work
- Commitment to health and safety and ability to drive a culture of care and compliance
- A valid drivers license
